List: Top 50 [50 - 46]

This is part 1 of my rundown of the Best 50 Irish Acts out there at this moment in time.

50. Clockwork Noise

Clockwork Noise have been quiet of late but the EP they released last year called 'Yes and No and Everything in Between' contains five superb indie tracks. The singer reminds me of Conor Oberst but the violin and musicianship on the EP means this is no Bright Eyes rip-off.

49. The P Affection

Padraig McCauley and The P Affection makes this list on the back of the debut self titled album released this year. The radio friendly pop songs are simply a pleasure to listen to.

48. The Elective Orchestra/Nick Carswell

As well as being an integral element of The Brad Pitt Light Orchestra, Nick Carswell has formed his own Orchestra called The Elective Orchestra and has just released a brilliant debut album. It's so good that I can't stop listening to it enough to get a review written. The album is launched this Thursday in The Odessa and is well worth the admission price.

47. TKO

TKO are a good time rock band who make music to nod the head to while drinking ridiculous amounts of alcohol is an atmospheric bar environment.

46. Pete Courtney

10 years ago Pete Courtney released his debut album 'One of These Things' and it was a delicious album of simple but effective songs. He followed the album up nine years later with 'Karma Biscuits' which I never got round to reviewing on the blog. I will be at Whelans for the 10 year anniversary gig of that debut album where Pete is promising to play tracks from both albums and to have special guests with him for a song or two.
