Album Review: August Wells - A Living and a Dying Game

Released in the Summer of 2014, 'A Living and a Dying' game from the new band formed by Ken Griffin is a work of magnificent songwriting that's kept me company to and from work since Christmas. It's simply stunning from start to finish with tales of getting old, sad love songs and epic observations of the ordinary.

It's hard to pinpoint why an album like this from August Wells hits all the right spots. Every song has a point, theme and purpose. Every backing instrument such as piano, violins, french horn and the wonderful trumpet has it's place to enhance the vocals and lyrics of vocalist and songwriter Ken Griffin.

Album highlights include the two tracks you can play here along with 'Dancing' and 'Dying's Not Worth Living For'. Overall there's not a poor track on this album. It really is a modern masterpiece of songwriting that deserves to be found by you.
