The 'Rock D Lough' gig went really well last night in Ryans of Gormalough, Slane.
Headliner Damien Dempsey was in fine sing-song form with all his best tunes present in the set-list such as Negaive Vibes, Apple of my Eye, Colony and Rocky Road to Dublin.
The support bill also impressed the large crowd. Peadar Farrelly started the night on the main stage in fine form. Ruairi Coogan [pictured] was playing with a full band showed massive progress in the quality of his songs and live performance.
There was a real festival feel to the venue. The main marquee was big enough for the thousand punters who attended. There was some great folk rock music from Entheos on a side stage at the beginning and end of the gig. There were also fire dancers to entertain the smokers!
However I was most impressed with future Hard Working Class Hero and former keyboard player with Turn and Paddy Casey; Fiona Melady who played a great set of radio friendly tunes that reminded me of what a great songwriting talent Fiona is!
Well done to the Profile Music Group for a great night of music and entertainment to help finish off the Summer! Who needs the EP anyway?
