Tupelo are your PLAY IRISH Galway artist next week – they are a Dublin based all original rhythm and roots band, and the song Jon Richards on Galway Bay FM will be playing all week is ‘Firefly’ their current single.
Some things you may not know about Tupelo:
Tupelo are named after the Van Morrisson album “Tupelo Honey”.
Tupelo played at the All-Ireland Hurling Final in Croke Park in front of 80,000 fans in September of 2011.
Tupelo count Imelda May, Damien Dempsey and Kerry GAA player Paul Galvin among their loyal fans.
Tupelo will take part in the London 2012 Olympic Games playing live at the massive Irish Village festival taking place over 18 nights next Summer.
The band is made up of 3 Dubliners, 1 Mayo man and 1 Australian from Coff’s Harbour, New South Wales.
Tupelo are a great band who have a Christmas gig booked for Whelans on Saturday 17th December!
