Introducing: A Mix of New Irish Bands #3

Here's the best of the new music that's come into my life over the last week or two beginning with the wonderful Miriam Donohue:

Miriam Donahue:

Quirky lyrics, pleasant vocals and buckets of charm sum up Miriam Donohue's style. I know I'll be writing about Miriam for years to come!

The Dirty Valentines:

The jury is still out on The Dirty Valentines. The music doesn't excite me but I can only imagine how good this band is live! Oh and apparently Krist Novoselic commented favourably on one of their YouTube videos!

Download their debut EP entitled '21st Century Dandies' here:

St. John the Gambler

Last week I had the great pleasure of watching the hugely talented Dublin band St. John The Gambler. The Mexican sound along with the wonderful double bass and trumpet were outstanding. St. John

Hooray! Glad you like :D

Just to clarify...'Lightheart' hasn´t actually been released as a single. The first single off the album won´t be out till the end of the year. We recorded this videosong for 'Lightheart' to finally have a little postcard from Germany to send home to Ireland :) We´re really excited about the album and can´t wait to do a few live shows in Ireland next year :D In the meantime I´ll be doing a few solo slots in October, November and December.

On Monday October 3rd I´ll be at the Jam & Jars session in John Daly´s, Mullingar if anyone is around that neck of the woods.

Sunny greetings to all at home from Leipzig!
