2uibestow's Guide To HCWHs

Hard Working Class Heroes 2010 will be the 8th annual Independent Showcase Festival for Irish Bands and Musicians. The schedule is up and can be found here: http://www.hwch.net/2010_schedule.html I am going to include a brief history here and talk through my picks for the festival!

In 2003 the first HWCHs took place in The Project Arts Centre where the tagline was one venue / two days / three stages / one vision ....

Here's the list of bands who played the 2003 festival. [I've spent a few mins trawling the net looking for the line-up but I came up with nothing. I've gone old school to an old Hot Press and I'm going to type out the list! ... thankfully I have the Brad Pitt Light Orchestra's debut for company!]

There was also a free cd with an edition of Hot Press which fetured tracks by many of the bands above as well as from The Frames and Mundy who must have been special guests at the festival.

In 2004 the second HWCH's took place in Temple Bar with The Meeting House Square being one of the main stages. Again info as to the line-up is non existent on the web. CLuas.com has a few reviews on their site here, here and here!

Some of the reviewed artists in the links include;

Declan O'Rourke,
Ann Scott,
Nina Hynes,
Republic of Loose,

From Wiki page: "HWCH took place for a third year in 2005. Tickets cost €25. Host venues included the Olympia Theatre, Eamon Dorans, Pravda, The Temple Bar Music Centre amongst other venues."

For 2005's festival again there's little info about line-ups!
