Gigs Galore on Friday June 4th

There's usually one night every couple of months where I'd love to be in four places at once and this Friday is certainly one of them.



Firstly there's Phantom’s monthly live music and indie club night, First Friday, returns to The Academy on June 4th.

Live music on the night will be brought to you by The Minutes, The Dirty 9s, Stand and Pilotlight, followed by the best indie and alternative sounds with DJ Richie McCormack until late.









Then there's the final of 'Becks on the Night' in Boyles, Slane. Storybooks for Small Dogs from Meath, Cocophone from Dublin and Huey and the Hobgoblins from Louth are in the running for a considerable cash prize of €2500! All the best of luck to each of these bands.

Then up the road a bit further in The Spirit Store you'll find Cathy Davey with support from the always wonderful Heathers!




Also if you're into Stephen James Smith's Glor Sessions on a Monday night why not check out a special weekend event in The Project Arts Centre.


The Glór Sessions has featured on RTÉ's Radio 1 Arts Show Arena and in The Irish Times' Cultural Review 2009.

Performers on the night include poets Stephen James Smith, Kalle Ryan, Colm Keegan and Noel Sweeney, musicians Fiach and Enda Reilly and actor Melissa Nolan
